Why is it always lovers to strangers?
Why is that the norm
If you go from friends to lovers
Why must you become strangers if it doesn't work out
Learning everything about someone
Someone close
Someone you love
Then you know everything about a stranger
A stranger your supposed to hate
One your supposed to want nothing to do with
But why can't you stay friends
Continuing to live a life with that person in it
One where you are connected but not intertwined
Because how can I forget someone
I cared so deeply about
I miss the person not the relationship
I miss the time spent being friends, not lovers
Because you can miss one's company
Separately from the relationship
And I miss the friendships
More than any kiss a relationship has ever given me
