I was loved by attentive ears, listening to me ramble
I was loved by open arms, protective and strong
I was loved by watchful eyes, soft and alluring
I was loved by the smile, welcoming and warm
I was loved by the legs, the ones that walked away
I was loved by the mind, the one that no longer wanted me
I was loved by the words, poetry written about me
I was loved as a poem until I became the poet
You ask who loved me wrong
And I do not have an answer
As no one loved me wrong
I was loved so right
